Price methodology

This is not an official price list

Thecooksoutmenu.us is an independent fan site. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or paid by Cook Out Restaurants Inc. Corporate does not publish a single national menu board. Franchise and company stores set their own prices, so a Raleigh tray and a Virginia Beach tray can differ on the same day.

What a listed price means

Item prices on category pages are typical à la carte figures we have seen on Southeast boards, rounded to the common ticket. The state table on the prices page uses cities and sales-tax notes already in this repo. Dollar amounts appear for dated NC boards only — we do not invent a unique dollar price per state.

When we write “NC locations, verified July 2026,” we mean the last pass of those bands was stamped July 31, 2026. We do not claim a live feed from every store.

How we compile ranges

• Date NC tray and à la carte figures from Southeast boards we have notes for.
• Group city guides by state and list sales-tax notes already in the location directory.
• Date-stamp the pass instead of implying prices never change.
• Invite corrections at contact when a local board differs.

Franchise and tax variance

Sales tax, local fees, and store-level specials are not baked into every table. City guides may add a tax-aware estimate; treat those as planning tools. Always read the board at the store you visit.

What we do not do

• Invent a fake national price and present it as official.
• Hide the verification date near price tables.
• Claim we called every location on a fixed quarterly schedule unless we can show that log.
